...Of The Week: May 7th to May 13th

...Of The Week is CB40's look back at the past week, including the best dunk, stat-line, clutch play, and blunder of the week.

Hit the jump to see what went down in the week that was...

The playoffs this week brought a plethora of dunks to be be considered for the award this week. Shout outs this week go to Caron Butler, who had a sick baseline dunk in Game 6 of their series vs. the Grizzlies, to LeBron in Game 5 vs. the Knicks, who threw down a signature one hand power dunk, and to Amar'e Stoudmire, who flashed back to his Suns days with a crowning of Joel Anthony. Those players had some BIG dunks, but JaVale McGee went the hardest in tha paint by far this week. In Denver's Game 5 win vs. the Lakers, McGee had his best game as  pro, which included seven huge dunks, take your pick which one gets the dunk of the week...My personal favourite, however, is the baseline and-1 McGee dunked over pau Gasol. see at 1:36

This week everyone from Al Jefferson to CP3 had great statistical games. Jefferson had 26 points, 10 boards, 2 steals, 1 block, and 2 assists on 13 of 19 shots, while Chris Paul had 27 points, 9 boards and 7 assists, but on only 10 of 22 shooting. Kobe went pretty hard in Game 5 vs. the Nuggets with 43 points, 6 boards, 2 steals and 5 assists in the loss, while Ty Lawson scored 32, had 6 assists, and 5 boards, and a block on a ridiculous 13 of 18 shooting while hitting five threes. While these stat lines were impressive, they just don't measure up to Kevin Garnett, who played in the deciding Game 6, and went vintage on the Hawks, scoring 28 points to go along with 14 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 5! blocks with only one turnover! Goin' hard.

No buzzer-beaters this week, but we did witness one of the weirdest "upsets" in NBA history, with the Philadelphia 76ers beating the Rose/Noah-less Bulls in six games. No one was more clutch in this series than Andre Iguodala, who gave the Sixers the win with these free throws. Iguodala rushed the ball down the court and got fouled, all in 4.8 seconds, and knocked down the free throws, setting in stone the SIxers' first round upset with the one-point victory.

It was an eventful week in the NBA, as always, but there were some odder than usual incidences. In one of the weirder incidences that I have witnessed was when a woman by the name of Savannah McMillan-Christmas, who supposedly was trying to stalk Kenyon Martin (he plays for the Clips now...) walked on to the court in the second quarter. Weird. Anyways, I think this week's terrible decision goes to CJ Watson, who passed to Omer Asik (see at 3:40) with 7 seconds left. Watson passed the ball to Asik, a 45% free throw shooter, when the Bulls had a one-point lead, with seven seconds left, rather than trying to run out the clock further, which cost the Bulls their season after Andre Iguodala hit two free throws. Whaddayadoin' CJ!
