"What to Watch The Throne" is the Monday segment by CB40 that outlines what teams and players to watch in the coming days.
Hit the jump to see what to watch this week, and what happened last week.
In review, I told you guys and gals to watch for the Bulls, the Grizz, and Celts, Andrew Bynum, Blake Griffin, and Tony Parker. Well...the Bulls responded horribly to D-Rose's injury and now trail 3-1 vs. the 76ers, the Grizzlies fought with the Clips but won game 2, Boston rallied behind Paul Pierce's 36 without Rondo to tie the series, which they now lead 3-1, and Dallas did not respond well as they got blown out in Game 3, and swept in Game 4. Bynum took a game off in Game 3 vs. the Nuggets but is back in form, Griffin had 22 in game 2, but only 17 in Game 3, and Tony Parker scored 18 and 27 in Games 2 and 3 en route to sweeping the Jazz.
Tuesday May 8th:
5:00 PST: Boston @ Atlanta: Will the Celts close out the Hawks on the road? If that happens...I will be impressed, and the rest of the East should be a tad worried about the aging, yet still capable, Celtics.
6:30 PST: Philadelphia @ Chicago: Will Philly, yes that same team that was terrible post All-Star break, beat the #1 seed of Chicago in the Windy City? That would fuck up my prediction of a Bulls sweep even further, but no one really saw Noah and Rose going down.
Wednesday May 9th:
4:00 PST: New York @ Miami: The Knick are fresh off a great win in which 'Melo went HAM, and Stoudemire had a solid game with his cast of a left hand. Will the Knicks prove they are for real by extending this series, or will Miami remove all doubt of who is going to win this series...I think the latter will occur.
Players:
LeBron James: He had a 27-4-4 game, but he got snubbed when it came down to the last shot, even though he hit an insane and-1 in the final minutes. Will LeBron keep up his rampant postseason stats, and will he even need to take the final shot. Who takes it? DWade or LeBron, the argument continues..
Jrue Holiday: Holiday scored 20 points, with two huge threes in the fourth quarter. If Philly is to put away the Bulls on the road, Holiday, and many other Sixers will have to come up with double-digit games.
Carmelo Anthony: 'Melo went off for 41 points in Game 4, and he will have to have another huge game if NYK are to win more than a single game and avoid the "gentleman's sweep" (4-1).
