It'll be a mix of relief, happiness, and I imagine it'll provide me a little insight into how I've changed, because I can guarantee home will be the exact same. Friends and family to see, old wounds to either forget, or tear open again. Strange strange strange. But whatever, not going home yet. Just close. This isn't really an article, I just thought I'd let you in on what I'm throwing on the ol' iPod (it's a new Nano bitches, nothing old here) for the trip. Playlist after the jump.
Wooh Da Kid - "Krown the King"
You never want to go through a Bricksquad withdrawal. Ever. I've never done it, but I imagine it'd be a terrifying crawl full of mind-altering drugs, gallons of booze, black eyes, and hundreds of dollars blown at the strip club. I'll save myself the trouble and just put Wooh on. I'll be honest, this is the lowest I've gone in the Bricksqaud echelon, so this is uncharted territory. However, tapes like these typically have a few gems, so it's worth the risk.
Mickey Factz - "Love. Lust. Lost"
Let's be honest. That's some nasty artwork. Giving this a try because once upon a time it was considered a guarantee this guy would blow up. But it's 2011, and he has yet to get his chance at the famed "Blog-Rapper-Tries-To-Crossover-Album". At least he's no Charles Hamilton. And that's only 35% shots, because I use to fuck with Normalcy heavy.
The BET Cyphers - "MMG" x "Shady 2.0"
Spaceghostpurpp - "Blackland Radio 66.6 (1991)"
This is the kinda rapper bloggers love to post to cement their coolness, paired with a ridiculous description of the music. You know what I mean right? All obscure references, convoluted phrases that tell you nothing, and sentences that would have you believe you've stumbled on a great piece of art. Here are the facts: I've heard about him for a while. I'd written him off as another guy using 'weird' as his gimmick. We'll see what he's like.
Main Attrakionz - "808s & Dark Grapes"
Very similar to above. Adored by the hipster-hopsters. I am putting myself in harm's way so KWT can find out if it lives up to the hype. I'm so courageous, aren't I?
I'm sure most of you don't care what Mr. TS is going to be listening to tomorrow. For those that don't care, I can only pray you stopped reading before the jump. For those that are mildly interested, let me know what you think in the comment section, or maybe make some suggestions. Still plenty of time to add to the list.
