Flipped: Grover Washington, Jr. - "Hydra"

It's been a while since I've give y'all a Flipped, but with tonight's installment, we're back in a major way. The track at hand is Buffalo, NY saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr.'s "Hydra," fresh with a bouncing bassline and his trademark smooth, jazzy sax.

Quite obvious to anyone who listens to the sampler, I took it easy on the viewers this time. Give it your best shot, then hit the jump to learn which west coast rhymesayer flipped the late, great Washington, Jr.'s Feels So Good standout.

Unfortunately, I can't find any production credit for this short yet sweet jam from Dom's 2011 mixtape The Original Dom Kennedy. But whoever flipped that bassline did so seamlessly. Washington's sounds mesh nicely with Dom's, creating a west coast feel to a "Hydra" track that's anything but that.
