Lupe Fiasco Hands in Food & Liquor 2

Thanks to last year's controversy surrounding Lasers, we all know about Lupe's troubled relationship with Atlantic Records. With that all in the back of our minds, when Wasalu announced that Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album was officially in the works, I, and surely many of you, were positive that the project either would never see the light of day or Lupe would not be given creative control, a la Lasers.

Today, Lupe tweeted that the sequel to his fantastic debut was fully done and that he and Atlantic were having the first listening meeting, a surely pivotal point in the potential release of the album. He soon followed with another, tweeting that Atlantic gave F&L2 the go, and that we'd be receiving it this July, barring setbacks. The quickness and lenience of Atlantic seems to mean that the label and rapper have cut ties, which is great news for both parties as well as Fiasco fans.
