My fascination with Kanye is well-documented (you might remember this article), so we'll just add this to the growing library of times I've reflected on the career of the living legend. "Theraflu" and "Mercy" were murderous, but it's hard not to miss the good ol' College Dropout days, when Yeezy was a rap-game defying mixture of modesty, intelligence, braggadocio and commentary on worldly issues. Back when Kan was a little more Chicago than Hollywood.

Follow along with KWT as we trace the progression of Yeezy, by looking at the artwork for every single from "Through the Wire" to "Theraflu."

"Through the Wire"

Yeezy on his college tip, bulletin board and Dropout Bear included.

I apologize for the size (HA!), but this is the only copy of the artwork available, and if I'd made it big it would have been a brutal eye sore. Things the artwork tells us? "The College Dropout" was 2x Plat at the time, and the Roc shipped a new mix and master that "knocks harder than the album version".

It's honestly a toss-up between the original and the remix, personally.

Children on Kanye artwork. Not something you'd see nowadays, unless they were fucked up versions drawn by George Condo.

Same story as "The New Workout Plan". Back when Kanye was pushing GLC, not the Biggest Sean and half the Clipse.

"Can't Tell Me Nothing"

Go grab your shutter shades, and then promptly punch yourself in the face for ever having a pair. Punch yourself twice if you were ever wearing them in a Myspace photo.
