Ballin' Line of the Week: Common

This week's Ballin' Line of the Week goes to Common, with the line coming from his most recent album, "The Dreamer/The Believer."

Hit the jump to find out what the line is, what song it's from, and what it means...

"Suited in Prada, stay mellow ('Melo) like LaLa
Young fresh with dollars, ladies go gaga"

From the song "Blue Sky," Common cleverly plays with the names of Carmelo Anthony, LaLa Vasquez, and Lady GaGa. First of all, Common says that he dresses in Prada clothing, not really a surprise for a rich rapper though. But, while he is flashing his wealth with his clothes, he still stays mellow. And then the word-play comes about...Carmelo Anthony's nickname is 'Melo, which can be interchanged with the real English word of "mellow." So he stays 'Melo, like LaLa, in which LaLa refers to Carmelo Anthony's wife LaLa Vasquez. He then finishes off the rhyming couplet by saying that the ladies love his money, which makes them infatuated (gaga) with him, referring to the one and only Lady GaGa
