"Odds Future" is my Thursday segment that looks at the betting lines of the night's basketball games, whether the props, odds, or point spreads, and offers some predictions and reasoning behind my picks.

Game: Miami @ New York
Type: Oddset (1.7 for Miami WIN (has to be by more than 5), 2.75 to TIE (within 5), 3.35 for NY WIN)
Pick: Miami to WIN
Why? Miami has won both games in this series, by 33 in game 1, and ten in game 2. But, with the Amare-punching-the-fire-extinguisher-glass-and-cutting-his-hand fiasco, the Knicks will not be as focused as they wanted to be. This, and Miami is playing very well of late.
Game: OKC @ Dallas
Type: Oddset (2.75 for OKC WIN, 2.7 for TIE, 1.95 for DAL WIN)
Pick: TIE
Why? The first two games of this series have been decided by a total of four points. Why go away from the trend. Each of these teams make runs during the game to keep it close, and neither team has gotten substantial leads that have lasting any significant amount of time. I think Dallas will get the victory to be down 2-1 in the series, but as far as the odds are concerned, this will be a tie.
Game: Miami @ New York
Type: Props (Bosh over/under 17.5 points, Kevin Durant over/under 27.5 points, Jason Terry made threes over/under 2.5)
Picks: Bosh- under (1.7), Durant- over (1.6), Terry- over (1.7)
Why? Bosh was in Miami for his son's birth....today, and will likely play today as well. I just can't see him lighting it up with jet lag and the emotion from seeing his kid born in the same day. Durant, i think, has to go over and at least get his average, because he has gone below his regular season average in both games this series. It seems like a breakout game is to come. Terry, a great shooter, seems to play better at home, and 3 threes for Terry is not a whole lot, as he hit four in game 1 and two in game 2, especially because he will be fired up being at home in what he called a "Game 7."
