Ballin' Line of the Week: Big Pun

Big Pun was one of countless talented MCs that died during the 90s, along with Big L, Tupac, Biggie and many more. The supreme lyricist, originally named Christopher Rios, spit raps at a breakneck pace, and had some basketball references in his extensive lyrical weaponry.

From the song, "The Dream Shatterer," from Pun's 1998 album "Capital Punishment," he shows his lyrical prowess from the opening line. Pun says that he shatters people's dreams in the rap game, making them feel terrible after they hear his complex lines. He shatters dreams like Michael Jordan did countless times during his career, including the dagger over Byron Russell, or "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo among countless others. He made the Cavs', and the Jazz's players never win an NBA Title during his career. Pun also assaults other rappers on the mic like Jordan did to every team in his NBA career. Pun then states that other posse's will be so embarrassed that they will not be allowed to rap anymore, like Adam and Eve when they were barred from being in the Garden of Eden. Nice line Pun.
