It's been far too long, Kids. Far, far too long, but Flipped, my personal favorite KWT segment, is finally back. After a nearly 365 day interlude, Major Harris' smooth sounds are at the forefront of Kids Wasting Time, as his My Way classic is featured on today's installment of Flipped.
With a soft bed of soulful strings and horns, 1975's "Love Won't Let Me Wait" is a sampling producers' best friend. Any guesses on who flipped Harris' classic top five single? Hit the jump below for the answer, stream and even a free download of the sampled track.
PAC DIV - "TAKE ME HIGH" (PROD. SWIFF D) | DOWNLOAD
Those familiar with the LA trio of Like, Mibbs and BeYoung should've nailed that one instantly, although the jump in time may have heightened the difficulty a bit. Pac Div's longtime in-house producer Swiff D flipped Major Harris' "Love Won't Let Me Wait" into a seamless hip hop joint that's nearly as soulful as its predecessor. Found on the group's 2010 mixtape Don't Mention It, "Take Me High" was The Div's first release from the project and still ranks highly among their most impressive work. Stream and download the track above, and don't be embarrassed if you're late, grab DMI right HERE courtesy of your newest bookmark KWT.
