It seems like all I listen to these days is West Coast hip hop. Probably because I'm too much of a cheap ass to turn on my heat and the California vibes make me feel all fuzzy inside, reminiscing of warmer times. Anyway, The New West is back toward the top of the hip hop game after a long hiatus between today and the days of 2Pac, Snoop, Cube, and this dude.

Highly underrated in my book, DJ Quik epitomizes smooth, and there's not a better artist to bump while cruising on those warm summer nights with the windows down (an activity of which I'll be giving you more insight soon). Damn...that sounds nice *reaches for nearest blanket*

Classic. This has been LT's and my jam over the past couple weeks. Pretty random, we know. But KWT favorite project From The Westside With Love II was heavily influenced by DJ Quik, and Dom let's his listeners know it. He was "waitin' to hear Suga Free, Quik or 2Pac," which had us feelin' all nostalgic and whatnot, leading to the inevitable return of Quik's most bumpable joint, "Tonite." Dig it.
