Pac Div - "Savages" (Video)

After a few months of shelf life, the Pac Div trio let loose of GMB's first music video in their Big Sik and Edbone assisted track "Savages." Presented by streetwear brand LRG, check out the threads worn by Like, Mibbs, and BeYoung, as the visual corresponds with LRG's 2013 lookbook.

Pac Div - G.M.B. (Album)

More than a year after their last offering, the Pac Div boys are back with another instant classic on tap. GMB, an acronym for the group's members Gabe, Michael and Bryan, is The Div's second retail album, is a 17 track offering featuring artists like Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Blu, Kurupt, Ty$, and more. Whether you're a certified #KnuckleHead or not, GMB is a must grab in my book. Hit the link below and fork out a few bucks to support hip hop in its truest form.

Pac Div - "Black Acura" (feat. Mac Miller) [Video]

To celebrate today's release of their sophomore album GMB, LA hip hop trio Pac Div also let loose of the visual for their Mac Miller assisted single. Peep the clip for one of the project's best tracks before heading over to iTunes to snag the entire album.

Pac Div - "The Return" (feat. Ty$)

While Twaan-boy is a more traditional listener and won't like that yet another Pac Div song dropped, I love hearing it a little bit early. This is more of the Pac Div I was looking forward to, rather than the group's hyped track "Cross-Trainers" with the Kendrick and Blu features. This is the smooth DiV that I grew to love. The DiV's GMB drops November 27th.

Pac Div - "Truth" (prod. Swiff D)

As expected, the left coast trio unleashes the fourth single and track number four from November 27th's GMB album, featuring production from (who else?) Swiff D. While I've been thoroughly enjoying the volume of Pac Div releases in the recent months, I can already confidently say this "Take Me High"-esque track is the best we've heard from The Div in a minute.

While it may just be my affinity for soulful, jazzy backdrops, I think Like, Mibbs and BeYoung are at their best over such production. Thoughts?

Like and Mibbs' grandmama offers her services for the album cover of The Div's forthcoming sophomore LP GMB, which will hit iTunes on November 27th. Although some of us may be disappointed in the project's push back, a tracklist like this makes the wait much easier, as Ty$, Kendrick Lamar, Blu, Mac Miller, Kurupt, Big Sik and more are slated for guest appearances.

With the latest single expected to drop soon, head down bottom to peep GMB's back cover, which also features the star studded tracklist. Until November 27th, check back with KWT for updates and new music from Like, Mibbs, and BeYoung.

Pac Div - "Black Acura" (feat. Mac Miller & Raven Sorvino) [prod. Thelonious Martin]

We're still a month and a half away from The Div's GMB release, but, as my fellow #Knuckleheadz know, them Pac Div dudes be them active dudes. Earlier today, the left coast trio unleashed the forthcoming project's newest and second single, featuring production from Chi-City's Thelonious Martin and guest slots from both Mac Meezy and Miss Raven Sorvino. Like, Mibbs and BeYoung don't like to give anything away, so expect one, maybe two more single drops before GMB drops in full on October 16th.

Pac Div - "Bank" (prod. Scoop DeVille)

With Sealed For Freshness 2 and GMB on the way before 2012's end, the latter half of this year will be owned by the left coast trio. With no official info or announcement, the group took to their official site just minutes ago to stream their first new joint in some time. The Div only accepts beats from the best, and for this release, they link up with Cali producer Scoop DeVille for their latest freebie "Bank."

Pac Div - "Gimme What You Got"

Just days after The Div saw an unreleased track of theirs make the cut for Rich Kidd's latest tape, Like, Mibbs, and BeYoung get another good look on a compilation tape, Champions, presented by LeBronJames.com. Hosted by Meel, the project features music from the likes of Pusha T, Pac Div, Chip Tha Ripper, Fly.Union, and much more. Grab the whole tape below.

Pac Div - "Take Me Back" (prod. Rich Kidd)

Originally intended for the group's Mania! mixtape, this Rich Kidd produced track was left off of the Cali trio's 2011 freelease, and now, a year and a half later, is finally liberated. Produced by Rich Kidd, "Take Me Back" appeared on the rapper/producer's We On Some Rich Kidd Shiiiiiit, Vol. 6 mixtape, which released today.

Pac Div - GMB (Artwork/Release Date)

It's been a minute since the LA trio given the masses a project, but today the group's own Mibbs took to Twitter to announce that would change soon. Big Mibbs unveiled that he, Like, and BeYoung are currently working on two projects, both GMB and SFF2, with the former hitting October 16th and the latter between now and then.

GMB, which will be The Div's second retail project following last year's The Div, stands for Gabe, Michael, Brian, which are the legal names of Like, Mibbs, and BeYoung, respectively. SFF2 is, of course, the second installment of the group's Sealed For Freshness mixtape series, of which the original SFF was the trio's first project. As KWT's resident #Knucklehead, I'm obviously hyped for two new Pac Div projects in 2012. Dopeness.

Pac Div - "Automatic" (prod. Swiff D)

After a busy 2011 which featured their acclaimed mixtape Mania! as well as their debut album The Div, Pac Div took a well deserved break from releasing new music and have been relatively quiet for a few months. Behind the scenes, though, the west coast trio has surely been hard at work on their not-yet-announced next endeavor, which will likely be home to this Swiff D produced banger that Like, Mibbs and BeYoung let loose of today.

12 Artists to Watch in 2012 (Part 4)

As the final four takes shape, here's our final installment of the 12 Artists to Watch in 2012. Refresh your memory and get up to par with Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 before heading below.

Don't get the gist? Here's a crash course. These are the guys we believe are poised to make big breakthroughs in the coming months. Forget about XXL's list, everybody knows those dudes were selling spots. Forget about MTV's list, everybody knows they were smoking angel dust the entire time. Kids Wasting Time's got you.

Hit the jump to see the final three artists to make our list, and who knows, maybe we included French Montana anyway...

Artist: Hassani Kwess
Hometown: Washington, DC
Follow: @hassanikwess
Essential Listening: Ruthless

Get Familiar: "Kick The Bass, Chuck" (prod. Chuck Inglish)

If you haven't heard of Hassani Kwess, you're late. If you don't appreciate his music after we introduced you, you're lame. Kwess is one of those rappers that people listen to and are automatically impressed with his talents. The dude sounds extremely natural both on the mic and on the beats, excelling in both as a rare producer/rapper.

Bursting onto the scene after standing out on Asher Roth's "Pabst & Jazz" track, the Washington, DC emcee recently released his fifth project Ruthless, premiering it exclusively right here at KWT. It's a multi-faceted project, boasting both tough, street rap tracks like "Lombardi" and smooth, jazz inspired ones like "B&M." With the exception of a few, the mixtape was produced almost entirely by Kwess, and his productions prove to be just as versatile as his rapping.

While dude is still a ways away from national stardom (we don't tend to cover artists who aren't), I fully expect Kwess to catch the ear of a huge underground following in the coming year, gaining the respect of the blogosphere, if he hasn't entirely done so already. His young age and lengthy yet quality discography is a testament to his awesome work ethic, which, paired with his natural talents, should pay off with a huge 2012 for Hassani Kwess.

Artist: Pac Div
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA

Get Familiar: "She" (feat. TiRon)
Since the inception of KWT, Pac Div has always been one of my top five favorite active hip hop acts, but until a few months ago, they were heavily slept on. Consisting of brothers Like and Mibbs and their longtime friend BeYoung, Pacific Division have stuck together since their high school basketball days, grinding out four incredibly dope mixtapes and, most recently, their debut album, The Div in November.

The newly independent (the broke free from their controlling deal with Universal just prior to the LP's release) trio are natives of Los Angeles, and it's very evident in their smooth sounds. They spit lyrics that everyday young adults can relate to on an everyday basis, from lines about being stuck living with parents to working minimum wage jobs, it's apparent that Like, Mibbs and BeYoung were normal dudes before their rapping careers took off.

As if that wasn't enough to get us hooked, The Div pride themselves on quality music, only working with the best producers and beats whether it be their in-house producer Swiff D, The Cool Kids' Chuck Inglish, the legendary No I.D., or the group's own Like, who recently got began producing.

Surely a unanimous Freshmen entry if XXL's "no groups" policy didn't exist, we view 2012 as the year Pac Div will solidify themselves as some of the best in the west. With their Sealed For Freshness 2 mixtape on the way as well as collaborations with The Neptunes, Dom Kennedy, and Kendrick Lamar in the vault, we expect that this year, Pac Div will finally move out of their parents' house and into yours.

Artist: Rockie Fresh
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Follow: @RockieFresh
Essential Listening: The Otherside

Get Familiar: "Duckin' N Dodgin'"
Although Chicago hip hop is still reaping the benefits of classic artists like Kanye, Common and Lupe Fiasco, The Windy City has been in the need of a young, up and coming emcee to ensure the city keeps ahold of the game as the aforementioned stars continue to age. As of late, Chi-City has been exploding with tons of new, promising acts from LEP Bogus Boys to Chief Keef, from King Louie to Kids These Days, and right in the thick of things is 20 year old South Side representer, Rockie Fresh.

Dude started the year 2012 with a bang in his third mixtape, Driving 88, as well as a nomination for XXL's Freshmen roster. Although he didn't earn a spot on the cover (who cares, our list is better anyway), expect him to outrap and outlast many, if not most, of the artists on the list with his smart, witty analogies and punchlines and his ability to expand hip hop into other genres.

Rockie reminds me of a more lyrical, more unique version of his "Duckin' N Dodgin'" counterpart Casey Veggies, and we've seen the buzz he's created at the ripe age of just 18. Often taking inspiration from differing genres of music, Fresh's sound is heavily and obviously influenced by alternative rock and electro music, making him likable to a multitude of music lovers, which is what I believe sets him apart from other artists from the Chi. While LEP Bogus Boys are strictly gangsta rap and Kids These Days are limited to their pop-like sounds, Rockie Fresh has always been and will continue to remain unclassifiable.
